Stretch cotton gabardine and lyocell (69% Lyocell, 28% Cotton, 3% Elastane)
Lyocell is a fabric that’s lightweight, durable and breathable, as well as smooth and stretchy to the touch. It’s made from eucalyptus tree pulp, which is naturally absorbent. Blended with cotton and elastane, it’s ideal for a comfortable piece that gives you room to move.
Care
This garment can be washed inside out in the washing machine on a low spin cycle that doesn’t exceed 30°C.
If you’d like to be even gentler, wash it by hand, keeping it inside out: leave to soak for 5 minutes, rinse and wring it out while keeping it wrapped up in a towel to preserve the natural fibers. Don’t overdo the detergent for risk of damaging the fabric.
Last tip from us: lyocell hardly creases, but if you want to iron it, do so on a low to medium temperature and put a cloth between the garment and the iron.
Design
These classic pleated chinos sit at a regular mid to low waist height.
The hip width is regular (drop 6); the leg has a slim fit without being tight. The hem is within the considered average standard for a casual pant.
They are garment-dyed; this technique gives them more of a vintage look. The textile dye used is eco-friendly and certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS).
The waistband is supported by a small cotton belt on the inside: a technique borrowed from bespoke tailoring that, along with the V-split, brings comfort to the waistline. The V-split can be found at the back of the waistband: it gives room for freedom of movement or for a tailor to adjust the pants’ fit.
The button placket is extended to ensure the waist is nice and secure.
The zipper is self-locking and hidden away by the placket. It has been galvanized, giving it an aged brass color. This fiddly treatment makes it more durable.
These pants have a watch pocket, or coin pocket: a nod to traditional tailoring.
