100% Cashmere

You feel it straightaway, that 100% cashmere. Goats from the plateaus of Asia are hand-combed and cashmere is made from their undercoat. It’s soft and fine, a true thermal insulator.

It’s woven in Italy, in the workshops of Filati Biagioli Modesto, a company with over a century of experience. They use raw materials and carefully selected premium fibers to guarantee Made in Italy quality. The company is certified by Sustainable Fibre Cashmere (SFA), ensuring production that’s sustainable for people, animals and the environment.

Care

To wash by hand: fill up a basin with lukewarm water with a few drops of mild or delicate laundry detergent. Turn the garment inside out and immerse it, allowing it to absorb all the water to refresh the fibers. Don’t leave it to soak for longer than 5 minutes or the detergent could cause damage. Rinse delicately, without wringing it out.

To wash in the washing machine, always turn it inside out or put it inside a delicates bag. Choose a short delicate cold wash cycle that doesn’t exceed 30°C. If possible, turn off the spin cycle (or set it to maximum 400 RPM).

Once the wash is finished, lay the garment on a towel and slowly roll them up together to eliminate excess water. To finish the drying process, lay it out somewhere flat and in the shade.

As for pilling? The dreaded pills that form on the surface of a garment are actually the material's ordinary reaction to friction against itself or other surfaces. It's naturally expressed by cashmere and high quality wool, so when you wear it, make sure to use an anti-pilling comb and always take care of the fibers when washing. That way they'll last you longer.

Design

It is made using single-ply yarn and knitted at 12 gauge thickness. The gauge refers to the number of needles per inch on the needle bed. The higher the number of needles, the finer the yarn needs to be. The result is a piece of knitwear that’s pleasing to the touch and perfect for every occasion.

Drop stitching the yarn makes the garment more refined and well-balanced. Drop stitching means lowering the needles in the machine to create curves in the knit without using scissors: a premium technique that guarantees less waste.

This zipper is self-locking, hypoallergenic and galvanized with a silver coating, a treatment that makes it more durable. We put our trust in Lampo to make it: true Italian excellence.

Knitwear gets washed after being made so it will stay just as beautiful as you see it. Our artisans line up and full the fabric during the production phase - this process brings out the softness in the wool.

It undergoes various anti-pilling tests. Although pilling is natural, it is reduced by using good quality wool. That’s why we make sure to put each piece through friction tests and adjustments: a long process that takes a lot of trial and error, but ultimately delivers a longer-lasting garment.
