Greased suede leather
Suede is made from the innermost layer of leather, superficially buffed to enhance its typical velvety feel. A final layer of grease highlights a variety of shades.
Before cutting, artisans carefully analyse the leather, eliminating any potential imperfections: this delicate process requires time and precision. A latex brush removes dust and residue, while a coarser brush is used to revive the nap, so the shoe remains just as soft and beautiful as you see it now.

Ideal construction
This construction features visible stitching: an aesthetic embellishment that suits casual style and makes the shoe more insulating.
The process begins with careful study of the leather; after finding the best part, the artisan cuts and shapes it round the last to form the upper. This is then delicately hammered to smooth down the seams and soften the parts that come into contact with the foot.
Here, the artisans attach the lining to the insole, leaving the ends of the leather facing outwards, like little wings. These are attached to the outsole with an external seam called a Rapid stitch, named after the machine that makes it. This step requires time and precision. Once the last has been removed, the shoe is ready to be finished and buffed.

Para rubber sole
Para rubber is extremely elastic and made from smoked latex. It’s extracted from a wild plant found in Parà, Brazil, from which it takes its name, and makes for a comfortable and flexible shoe.

Care
Leather gains beauty with age, so long as it is well taken care of. Here’s how:
- Use a brush to get rid of dust.
- If there are stains, rub them delicately using a soft-bristled brush, for example made from rubber (we use one made out of para rubber).
- Spray a brightening spray from 15-20 cm away from the shoe and wait for it to fully dry.
- Use a cloth to apply some neutral-colored waterproofing cream. It will help protect the shoe from rain and give it back that vintage look typical of greased suede leather.
- Use deodorizing sanitizer spray on the inside of the shoe; wait a few hours before wearing.
Take a look at our shoe care kits. You’ll find everything you need to care for suede leather of any color; there’s even a pot of waterproofing cream. Entirely made in Italy, naturally.

Made in Italy
Production is based in Montegranaro, in the Marche region, where the tradition of shoemaking has deep roots. For a product that lasts, we only select leathers that age well and put our trust in people who have been in this industry for generations. The artisans in our workshops have learned the job through family and know each and every trade secret. Here are some of their stories.
